BANGALORE, INDIA: Networking solutions provider Dax Networks launched DX-2102E-NAS, a scalable network-attached storage (NAS) device.
Priced at Rs. 43,830, DX-2102E-NAS has a built-in iSCSI target service, policy-based unauthorized IP blocking, SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol), remote replication, a Gigabit LAN port, and three USB ports (with a built-in auto-copy feature).
The in-built iSCSI target feature makes the NAS an ideal solution for back-up or storage expansion, says the company.
This feature allows users to easily create dedicated virtual drives on the NAS for their PCs or existing servers. The iSCSI drives on the NAS can be formatted as file systems and used as local drives.
The NAS is populated with two 1TB HDDs and is scalable up to 4TB.
The back-up software helps NAS users perform real-time synchronization. The NAS is also compatible with third party back-up software and allows data on the NAS to be backed-up securely over the network, to or from another NAS.
The integrated one-touch button can be configured to trigger instant data back-up from the external USB device to the NAS or the other way round.
DX-2102E-NAS supports Hard Disk Drive SMART (Self-Monitoring Analysis and Reporting Technology) for monitoring the hard drive status. Moreover, the NAS is embedded with HHS Technology which supports disk checking and bad blocks scanning.
To prevent the NAS from malicious attacks, the server manager can create an IP filter policy to allow, deny, or auto-block the IP address or network domain which attempts to connect to the NAS via SSH/ Telnet/ HTTP(S)/ FTP/ samba/ AFP.
Multimedia HubThe integrated UPnP/ DLNA media server supports gaming consoles and works well with NFS-supported High-Definition (HD) digital media players, allowing DX-2102E-NAS to act as a multimedia station.
The Surveillance Station enables you to configure multiple IP-based security cameras simultaneously for real-time monitoring, recording, and playback.
DX-2102E-NAS comes with a three-year warranty and online support for customers. Dax intends to supply the current market requirement of this product through its broad network of Authorized Dax Solution Providers (ADSPs) and system integrators.
