NEW DELHI: ZyXEL Communications Corp. announced that ZyXEL 2.5GHz WiMAX MIMO Residential Gateway MAX-206M2 has received the Mobile Forum Certified seal of approval at the WiMAX Forum Global Congress in Amsterdam. ZyXEL is among the first group of WiMAX Forum member companies to receive this honor.

The WiMAX Forum is an industry-led, not-for-profit organization formed to certify and promote the compatibility and interoperability of broadband wireless products based upon the harmonized IEEE 802.16/ETSI HiperMAN standard. A WiMAX Forum goal is to accelerate the introduction of these systems into the marketplace. WiMAX Forum Certified products are fully interoperable and support broadband fixed, portable and mobile services. Along these lines, the WiMAX Forum works closely with service providers and regulators to ensure that WiMAX Forum Certified systems meet customer and government requirements.

The ZyXEL MAX-206M2 has gone through a rigorous test plan and it has met all interoperability and conformance standards required. With the Mobile WiMAX 2.5 GHz certification, the WiMAX technology from ZyXEL is proven and it also ensures the interoperability of ZyXEL's WiMAX products with other certified Mobile WiMAX equipment deployed by more than 305 WiMAX service providers among 118 countries worldwide.
