LAS VEGAS, USA: Broadcom Corporation, a semiconductor solutions provider for wired and wireless communications, unveiled its FCoE offload solution on converged network adapter (CNA) platform at Cisco Live.
The company says that the solution is 80 per cent faster than the nearest competitor and can give performance speeds of up to 1.7 million input/output operations per second (IOPs).Also Read: Can iSCSI win over FCoEs hype?
Broadcom's FCoE-based converged network solutions allow IT professionals to unite data and storage networks on a common 10GbE fabric, while reducing the cost of power, cooling and cabling, claims the company.
Broadcom's FCoE solution, as tested by EMC, supports multiprotocols including Level 2 (L2) networking, Network Attached Storage (NAS), Internet Small Computer System Interface (iSCSI) offload, and now FCoE offload connectivity.
Broadcom has completed EMC E-Lab interoperability testing with EMC's storage arrays along with Cisco Nexus switches, Cisco Unified Computing System, Brocade 8000 switches, and Dell Blade servers.
