NEW DELHI, INDIA: State-owned telecom service provider, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd., BSNL, announced the launch of high speed broadband services, offering speed up to 16Mbps and 24 Mbps, over very high speed digital subscriber loop (VDSL) technology, says a report in The Hindu. The services come at a monthly rental of Rs. 4,999 16 Mbps and Rs. 9,999 for 24 Mbps. However, while 24 Mbps broadband will be available to customers who are at a distance of up to 500 metres from the exchange, 16 Mbps broadband is available only up to around 1 km.
