Wifi Networks launches DVB-T/H technology

Wifi's products works on all DVB-compatible hand sets and the services are offered on subscription-based model

BANGALORE, INDIA: Wifi Networks, provider of ready-to-deploy products and services, today launched its futuristic digital video broadcasting technology for terrestrial/handhelds (DVB-T/H). Termed as the next generation broadcasting technology of high video quality, users can view maximum number of channels of their choice on devices like TV, PC, handheld devices, PDAs and mobile phones through this technology.

Addressing media persons during the launch, Mohan Raju, MD, Wifi Networks (P) Ltd., said, "Wifi Networks has developed a complete end-to-end suite of products including interactive solutions using the DVB-T/H technology." "Our vision is to provide interactive video services on TV and mobile devices on a revenue-sharing business model."

"All video applications and interactive services are focused on 'user experience' at an affordable price, which is the key to the success of anywhere, anytime, any device video interactive services," he added.

Highlighting the advantages of DVB-T/H, he said, "As against the normal Mobile TV, which a few operators have started offering, the quality of picture and voice will remain undisturbed irrespective of the number of users,." "Being an operator agnostic service, you will be able to watch TV on the move, irrespective of whether or not your mobile service provider offers this service."

The DVB-T/H operates on UHF bands and the digital signals are received on DVB-H enabled phones. Unlike most other VAS operators, Wifi Networks is not a mere content aggregator but deploys its own platform across telecom operators, TV and radio stations.

Wifi Networks, which has its presence across India, Sri Lanka, Middle East and East Africa with leading telecom and broadcasting companies, providing technological solutions in communications. The company has exclusive rights to more than 70 channels and around 50 radio stations across India, Middle East and Sri Lanka. "We have 98 percent market share in South India, where we operate interactivity for leading TV channels," Mohan said.

in India this is not possible for the next two decades you have the infrastructure but how will you imply it when there is 0 interest from government they does want to make the people know anything or they want people to communicate with each other, they knows it if they let us communicate we the people of India can bring big change in everything you name it we the people of India can do it.
