More than 90 million existing business customers worldwide can start taking advantage of the latest office productivity suite from Microsoft that delivers the best unified productivity experience across PC, Web and Mobile.

‘The excitement in India for Office 2010 is very high’, said Venkatesan. The beta version saw over 1.3 million downloads and over 2000 businesses are already making the transition to the latest version, including TCS, Cognizant Technologies, Lowe Lintas, Virgin Mobile, Mindtree Consulting, Tech Mahindra, Infosys, Wipro and HCL Infosystems.
Microsoft also announced that Office Mobile 2010 will soon be available on Windows 6.5 phones and a broad range of Nokia smart phones starting with Nokia’s business-optimized range, E-series. Speaking on the occasion, D Shivakumar, MD and Vice President, Nokia India, said, “If you are going to provide a seamless and integrated productivity experience on a mobile device, we believe Microsoft is an ideal partner. With the mobile device fast emerging as the primary access device for professionals on the move, this alliance will enable us to expand Microsoft Office Mobile to Nokia smart phone users and allow them to collaborate on Office documents from anywhere. Furthermore Microsoft’s signature productivity technologies are now also available in the cloud, offering additional choice and flexibility for IT departments. Starting today, Office Web applications, a companion set of Office functionalities on the cloud will be available to all Office volume licensing customers. In addition, customers will be able to purchase a subscription to Office Web Apps as part of Microsoft Online Services, Microsoft’s cloud-based applications. With over 40 million paying customers on Microsoft Online Services, businesses are embracing Microsoft’s vision for the cloud. This is part of Microsoft’s continued focus on delivering cloud services for enterprise users. Earlier this year, Microsoft had announced the availability of its Platform on the Cloud, Windows Azure, which has already seen tremendous momentum in the Indian Market.
