NEW DELHI, INDIA: 15.1 million new GSM subscriber additions for the mobile services were registered in India during the month of August. With the new additions the total mobile subscriber base at the end of August 2009 stood at 456.7 million.
Wireline subscriber base declined by 0.09 million to dip to 37.33 million. The wireline density is at 3.19, a COAI release stated.
India’s total telecom services subscriber base is inching towards the 500 million mark with 494.07 million.
Broadband subscriber base increased from 6.80 in July to 6.98 million at the end of August.
