BANGALORE, INDIA: Here, we are presenting what would likely be the top 10 trends in mobility, during the coming year.

Some of the likely winners in India during 2009 seem to be mobile commerce, widespread use of GPRS, presence of MVNOs (mobile virtual network operators, 3G services, WiMAX, etc.

* Mobile commerce would be India's answer to the e-commerce revolution in the west.

* Low cost, high performance data services (GPRS) becoming widespread and used by consumers anywhere in India

* Mobile would be the common man's PC.

* Services beyond voice and SMS would become more prevalent.

* More international players including MVNOs would make its presence felt in India.

* 3G services would be launched in India.

* Voice ARPUs would continue to go south.

* Regulators to play more active role to ensure competitiveness and fairness in the market.

* Wireless broadband technologies like WiMAX would be piloted.

* Video and TV over mobile would become reality.
