LONDON: Revenues from application-specific ICs and application-specific standard products are expected to go up by 14.4 per cent in 2010 to $93.3 billion, according to an analyst.

However, Bryan Lewis, an analyst at Gartner, said this is a slower rate of increase than the overall semiconductor market which, according to him, is set to grow by 20% in 2010.

Bryan Lewis’ projection implies that the significance of ASIC and ASSPs will go down.

The ASIC/ASSP market, according to Bryan Lewis, will continue to grow through 2014, when it will hit an annual market size of $116.1 billion – which is equivalent to a compound annual growth rate of 5.6 per cent.
