Sir, Can the TFP Cell technology be used and installed on existing windows to generate electricity?. I am having an independent bungalow in Pune, India My terrace has a FRP dome like structure with a base of 10 feet X 10 feet and a top of 2 feet X 2 feet.Approx area of about 200 sq feet. I have a four BHK house with large windows 7 feet X 5 feet. Two in each room. Can the thin film photovoltaic cell technology be installed and what would be the approx cost of gadgets and cost of installation? How much electricity would be produced? My average monthly consumption is about 150 to 180 units of electricity. Dr Uday Kelkar

Congratulation to WBREDA for The first BIPV project of India. But the BIPV project cost is around $15 million per MW and is possible with huge incentive only from different sources. The WB state FIT of $0.30 per unit does not forsee commercial viability of this type of project in large scale.
