MUMBAI, INDIA: Digital televisions that will roll out of the LG Electronics assembly line will soon sport ARM11 MPCore and Mali-200 and Mali-400 graphics processor cores. The electronics major has licensed the ARM products for use in its soon to come digital televisions.

According to the EETimes, the Mali-400 MP multicore graphics processor core supports complex applications at up to 1080 line progressive scan high-definition resolution. Mali graphics processors also deliver 2D and 3D graphics providing 4 and 16 times full-scene anti-aliasing. Mali products also support 2D scalable vector graphics through OpenVG for improved text, navigation, UI and web-browsing experiences, it added.

It is believed that LG picking the ARM architecture will guarantee longevity for ARM's technology. It has been pointed out by ARM that the combination of ARM CPU and Mali graphics processors clearly represents a compelling package for DTV and connected home technology manufacturers, who will be able to provide their customers with integrated, high-quality, Internet connected, multimedia-ready devices that are proven to be energy efficient.
