Tanner EDA integrates to Mentor's Calibre

Its EVI provides seamless interface for Tanner customers using Mentor Graphics' Calibre tool suite

MONROVIA, USA: Tanner EDA, a leader in PC-based analog and mixed-signal IC design tools, announced the immediate availability of its External Verification Interface (EVI) product, available with Tanner Tools v13.11 release on Windows.

EVI provides a seamless interface for Tanner customers using Mentor Graphics' Calibre tool suite to verify their designs. Used in conjunction with Calibre RVE, customers can review Calibre DRC errors, LVS results, and PEX parasitics in L-Edit and S-Edit environments.

EVI supports all cross-probing and highlight functions available in Calibre RVE. EVI is also compatible with Calibre Interactive, which allows users to run DRC and LVS on L-Edit and S-Edit designs directly from within the Calibre Interactive environment.

Network interoperability
EVI was designed from the outset to work across the network; allowing Linux based Calibre to connect directly with Tanner Tools on the Windows platform, providing a completely integrated verification flow.

“Layout verification is a very time consuming process of checking, debugging and re-checking, requiring numerous iterations,” said Dr. Massimo Sivilotti, Chief Scientist at Tanner EDA. “As design complexities increase, the verification process becomes more critical, and significantly impacts the time to market.”
