PARIS: Mentor Graphics Corp has completed the buy out of Israeli company Valor Computerized Systems in a deal involving close to $82 million in cash and stock. The company has said that it has paid about 5.6 million shares of Mentor stock and $32.5 million in cash to pocket5 valor.
The buy out of Valor means that Mentor would be making its foray into the PCB systems manufacturing solutions segment. The acquisition is expected to position the company on a better platform. It is being seen that Valor's expertise and products in the manufacturing segment would prove a boost to Mentor's activities in the PCB design arena.
Mentor hopes that the acquisition will also help cement its reigning position in PCB design. In effect, it will also enable Valor to leverage the strengths of Mentor and accelerate their delivery of differentiated design for manufacturing and manufacturing execution products.
The Israeli company is a player in the arena of productivity improvement software solutions for the printed circuit board manufacturing supply chain.
