BANGALORE, INDIA: Magma Design Automation Inc. announced that Hynix Semiconductor, the world’s top-tier memory semiconductor supplier offering DRAM and Flash memory chips, used Magma’s integrated digital IC implementation system to tape out Hynix’ 16-Gb flash memory design.

With Magma’s software, Hynix was able to overcome timing-closure issues on the sensitive control logic in this nanometer design while reducing turnaround time by 30 percent.

“Hynix has utilized a full custom design flow for our top-tier flash memory devices,” said Choi Woo-Sick, senior engineer in Hynix's Computer-Aided Engineering Group. “By providing an advanced, automated flow, Magma allowed us to successfully implement our flash device, cut turnaround time significantly and maximizes our engineering resources.”
