Winbond International specializes in R&D, marketing and sales of NOR flash and specialty DRAM products for the US and Europe, and is wholly owned by Winbond.
Winbond posted revenues of NT$8.53 billion (US$268 million) in the second quarter of 2010, a growth of 21 per cent on quarter. The investors’ conference set to take place on August 6 is expected to reveal other financial results for the quarter.
Analysts are of the opinion that Winbond had a strong second quarter, and that the company will enjoy positive guidance for the third.
Recently the company revealed its plans to grow its NOR flash memory capacity to 10,000 wafer starts a month by the end of 2010, and also to migrate NOR production from 90nm to 58nm in 2011.
According to previous reports regarding SDRAM, Winbond will be moving its in-house developed 46nm process to volume production in 2011.Winbond is looking to phase out of the DRAM business and has accordingly significantly lowered its proportion of standard DRAM sales since 2010.
