TAIPEI, TAIWAN: Transcend Information, the memory module company based in Taipei, Taiwan, has earned record-high net profits of NT$4.33 billion (US $134.8 million) for 2009 – up by 92.4 per cent from NT$2.25 billion in 2008. The company’s full-year earnings came to an EPS of NT$10.36.
The revenues of Transcend Information for 2009 totaled NT$33.4 billion – up by .3 per cent from NT$33.32 billion in 2008. The firms’ NAND flash products accounted for 41.3 per cent of the full-year sales, followed by sales of DRAM modules, with 36.5 per cent.
Other products like digital photo frames and digital music players – which Transcend Information puts under the segment of strategic products – made up 22.3 per cent of the company’s revenues in 2009.
In a statement, Transcend Information said that emerging markets played a significant role in the company’s growth in 2009. The company’s presence continues to expand in the United States and China, the statement added.
Meanwhile, A-Data Technology, a competitor to Transcend Information, reportedly rallied to earn profits of NT$2.13 billion in 2009, from the losses amounting to NT$2.02 billion in 2008. The earnings of A-Data Technology came to an EPS of NT$10.53 for 2009.
