The alliance has as its members major names such as Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) and AU Optronics (AUO). These companies apart, a host of suppliers of CIGS materials and equipment, and module makers have also become part of the alliance.

Expected to be a platform for sharing information and cooperation to facilitate the integration of resources and technological capabilities, the coming together has set a goal towards developing key materials and equipment in the first phase from July 2010 to the end of 2011. The alliance will also make sure that integration happens in order to offer turnkey production lines in the second phase by the end of 2012.
