The agreement with DoCoMo is just a beginning of MediaTek’s strategic cooperation with the company and MediaTek is looking forward for a more comprehensive and strategic partnership with the company, including inter-operability testing ,joint global marketing and technology initiatives.

MediaTek will promote and market its LTE-PF based advanced mobile platform with its global consumers and partners. Toshio Miki, managing director of communication device development department of DoCoMo has been quoted by reports as saying that this licensing agreement will enable MediaTek to offer a globally interoperable LTE mobile platform.

The company will then be able to provide its customers and partners with cutting-edge wireless communication solutions and a smooth transition from 3G to 4G .The agreement will make MediaTek’s LTE products to spread throughout the global mobile market and DoCoMo will be able to introduce LTE-compatible consumer services for advanced user experiences.

The company is keen to build up a solid relationship with DoCoMo. MediaTek is keen to forge a solid relationship with DoCoMo.

MediaTek said it will jointly conduct its inter -operability testing with DoCoMo in Japan with the intention of optimizing and increasing adoption of MediaTek’s LTE mobile phone platform by Japanese manufacturers
