MagnaChip Semiconductor LLC, a spinoff from Hynix Semiconductor Incorporated, makes analog ICs and mixed-signal ICs in 2 fabs in located in South Korea.
MagnaChip Semiconductor says it plans to raise about $250 million through initial public offering of stock. However, the number of shares to be sold and the price range for the proposed offering have not yet been decided.
At the time when MagnaChip Semiconductor had sought bankruptcy protection, the South Korea-based KTB Securities Company Limited had bought MagnaChip Semiconductor and its affiliates, in a deal worth around $80 million.
In the proposed initial public offering of stock by MagnaChip Semiconductor, Barclays Capital Incorporated, Goldman, Sachs & Company, and Deutsche Bank Securities Incorporated will serve as joint-bookrunners; and UBS Securities LLC and Citigroup Global Markets Incorporated will be the co-managers.
MagnaChip Semiconductor had filed for an IPO in 2007 with an offering value of $575 million, but did not follow it up.
