BANGALORE, INDIA: TechSparks 2010, a pan-India hunt for the most promising innovative product technology startups, is being organized by YourStory.in, an online platform that provides visibility and meaningful networking opportunities to entrepreneurs.
TechSparks received 200 entries from around the country, out of which 18 have been shortlisted, who will be showcased in a Grand Finale on Friday, August 13, 2010 in Bangalore.
The event would focus on innovative product start-ups in Software products, Mobile products, Cloud computing, Web 2.0 verticals. Out of the 18 shortlisted only five would be the chosen winners who will be adjourned as the TechSparks of 2010.
The assessment is being carried out by using G/Score an assessment tool, which would enable standardized, scalable methodology for assessing the team, execution and commercial viability of the start-up, said a press release.
“TechSparks is designed to bring together Entrepreneurs in product tech space and the Investor community together under one roof,” said Shradha Sharma, founder, Yourstory.in.
She further said, “ We understand that product start-ups take a lot of capital and time and there also exists a huge gap between investors and innovators. TechSparks is a step towards providing a conducive platform for product innovation in India.”
The 18 staged startups at TechSparks 2010 would be provided with strategic and marketing support, mentoring and funding opportunities. There will also be recognition and visibility among potential clients and investment community.
The event is supported by Microsoft BizSpark and Cannan Partners, Mumbai Angels, ESDS. It would be attended by Entrepreneurs in product tech space/ Innovators; Venture capitalists; Corporates.
