BANGALORE, INDIA: Western Digital, a provider in external storage solutions, on Wednesday announced that it has unveiled a revamped range of next-gen external hard drives with innovative features.
The new range of products include My Passport Elite featuring an illuminated capacity gauge and drive lock indicator; My Book Elite featuring a customizable e-label which makes drives personal and My Book Studio featuring a customizable e-label and with FireWire 800 interface.
All these 3 products feature automatic and continuous backup with WD SmartWare software and 256-bit hardware-based encryption, said a press release. Speaking at the launch, Sharad Srivastava, sales director, South Asia and India, Western Digital said, “ As portable hard drives grow in capacity, consumers are now able to store their entire digital lives on them. Keeping users’ content secure as well as stylish are two aspects that make My Passport Elite drives our most personal storage devices yet.”
He added that equipped with WD SmartWare software and hardware-based encryption, these drives keep consumers’ personal content safe in one place, while the sleek design and premium finishes infuse a sense of personal style.
The My Book Elite drives are offered in capacities of 1 TB, 1.5 TB and 2 TB and have a 3-year limited warranty. MSRP for the My Book Elite drives ranges from Rs. 7,200 to Rs. 13,400 depending on capacity, added the release.
