BANGALORE, India: Acer, second largest PC brand, announced the launch of a special limited period festive promotion during which its line up on the mobile computing platform would start at 14,999+ taxes to the end consumer. The special period offer is valid till stocks last.
"With a penetration rate, which still hovers around the 4 per cent mark, India is a market, which offers a massive opportunity for the growth for brands like us. We strongly believe that there exists a huge mass of our population, which still dreams of buying a notebook but cannot afford the same. This initiative is a small step as part of a much larger vision of Acer’s which is about ‘Breaking barriers between people and technology," said S. Rajendran, chief marketing officer Acer India.
He added, "With today’s move we believe that we are tapping into a whole new segment of the market which is hungry and aspiring to jump on the mobile computing bandwagon and breaking another barrier between the people of India and their aspiration and ability to own a great product from a global leader in the category.”
During the limited period offer, Acer will have models starting from 14999 and have a ladder pricing strategy in place which would see products at different price points being sold from across its retail channel network numbering over 275 in the IT channel space and from over 100 large format retail stores across the country, said a press release.
