BANGALORE, INDIA:Acer, the No. 2 vendor in global PC market, which completed 10 years in India recently, today announced 'Acer Select Program', a strategy for its select channel partners to increase its footprint in commercial segment in India.
Launching the program here today, Acer India CMO S.Rajendran said the company aims to generate Rs. 35 crore from this new business in the fourth quarter of 2009.
"Acer eyes for Rs. 35 crore business from the new segment in Q4 2009 and also expects that our business will grow thrice in size in the first quarter of 2010," he said.
“Acer values it partners' success and degree of performance and has a large presence in the consumer segment only. With the 'Select' partner program Acer plans to enhance its channel partner network targeted at commercial and SMB segments."
The program, with an investment of over Rs. 1 crore, has already roped in over 50 partners across eight geographies in its first phase and would expand the network to over 100 by the end of this financial year. The company has plans to launch specific models targeted at the commercial segment.
The portfolio includes: Commercial desktops (DTs) - Veriton Commercial notebooks (NBs) - Extensa, TravelMate LCD Monitors - P Series (Professional) Servers - Altos Projectors - SVGA & XGA Series
