Dell to honor Indian small business

Announces 10 India finalists for Dell Small Business Excellence Award

BANGALORE, KARNATAKA: Dell, UTVi and Endeavor India today announced the 10 India finalists for the first ever Indian leg of the annual Dell Small Business Excellence Award, which recognizes small businesses applying technology in innovative ways.

Selected by an esteemed panel of judges from over 5000 applications, finalists receive a Dell business-class laptop and go on to compete for the national award.

Announced in October, the national winner would receive consulting time with Michael Dell and $25,000 in Dell technology, said a press release.

The India 2009 Dell Small Business Excellence Award finalists include; Ace Brain Systems and Software Ltd, Pune, Array Consulting Pvt. Ltd, Cerulean Information Drishti, Ekgaon, GreenMangoOnline Marketing Services Pvt Ltd, Indian Wildlife Club, Komli Media, Media Magic Retail Private Ltd, Sankhya Infotech Ltd.

Ravi Bharadwaj, general manager - SMB, Dell India said, “In today’s competitive era, these businesses are proof that smart IT investments can not only pay off for the business itself, but for their customers as well.”

He added that this year’s finalists are applying technology in new, innovative ways--often for the first time in their industries--to evolve and raise standards pertaining to business efficacy and customer satisfaction. The 10 stalwarts are pioneers and strong examples for all their customers of the positive impact IT can have on business success and customer satisfaction.

Once named, 13 national winners from Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Spain, United Kingdom and the United States would be considered for the 2009 global Dell Small Business Excellence Award worth $50,000 in Dell technology and services and benefits from global partners International Council for Small Business and Endeavor. The global winner will be announced in fall 2009.

India 2009 Dell Small Business Excellence Award Value, $25,000 in Dell products and services and day of best-practice sharing with Dell executives, including chairman and CEO Michael Dell, added the release.
