Sharing details on the product, Manoj Gupta, Proprietor, Challenger Computers stated, “We have been into the distribution of leading brands including LG, Canon and Lenovo, among others. However, we were planning to offer something from our end that was very much in tune with the latest technology. Given that laptop users these days need a USB modem to stay connected even when on the move, we resolved to launch Robotics. This USB modem offers a speed of 236Kbps and a user simply needs to plug and play it without installing any CD.”

Talking about the demand for the modems, Gupta mentioned that the product range has been widely accepted in markets including Delhi and NCR region and in order to extend added benefits with the product, Challenger is bundling K7 Computing anti-virus software free with the USB.

“In the past three months since its launch, we have sold over 6,000 units of the product and keeping in mind the demand for it, we are now extending support by offering K7 Computing anti-virus for free along with the USB. We want to go slow in promoting the product further and are also planning to add other features to the USB device. We will be launching an enhanced version of the same, in which the USB can also be alternatively used as a pen drive.”

Challenger is offering a one year warranty on the USB device. The company has also been approached by various laptop vendors to sell Robotics as a bundled product with their laptop but Challenger is yet to evaluate the offer.

“Several leading laptop vendors have approached us whereby they have offered to club our USB modem with their laptops, but we are at the moment more keen on pushing the device as an independent product,” stated Gupta.
