Nokia is a standard when it comes to wireless communication or for that matter mobile phones market. With so many features at a very nominal cost it would be interesting to see how much justice has been done to this fact.

S. Thomas, Mumbai said on 5/14/2010 4:53:49 PM:
The use of the term 'too cheap' is inappropriate. In a crowded market place, a manufacturer would try to enhance value so that the customer chooses the product over the may others in the market. Samsung used this method to dethrone Nokia. The point to note is that the best selling product need not always be the most technically advanced. Nobody would be able to deny that at Rs. 5,000 the Nokia X2 does appear to offer excellent value. To truly offer excellent value the audio quality and battery life must be above par. Then the X2 would definitely help Nokia in their quest to regain lost market share.

NOIKA's 5 Megapixel Camera for 5K is a Cool Deal. Finally NOKIA realised the Growth of MOBILE Communication & also the Competition from Several Manufacturers in the MOBILE Market. According to the latest figures from The Mobile World, the Mobile Telecoms Analysis Company, there are now over 2.6 billion Mobile Users in the world. The Website "http://www.guardian.co.uk" says " UN's agency for information and communication technologies predicting that there will be 4 billion mobile phone users - or more than half of the planet's estimated 6.7 billion inhabitants - by the end of this year" IT also says that "Operators in mature markets are now focusing on revenue stimulation and fighting churn through key competitive factors such as: price elasticity, network coverage, loyalty policy, quality of services, value added services and market segmentation." The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) estimates that as much as three quarters of the computers sold in the US are stockpiled in garages and closets. When thrown away, they end up in landfills or incinerators or, more recently, are exported to Asia. This will surely boost the Market Share for NOKIA and at the same time many will regret for paying a Fortune for a 2 Megapixel or a 3 Megapixel Camera Phones. Anyhow Fingers Crossed, GOOD LUCK NOKIA...!! Wake up Mobile Manufacturers. It's time for you to Prove Yourself and Give a TOUGH Competition to NOKIA Till then HAPPY Mobile Communication...!! 2 All the Mobile Users. Use Mobile Carefully and Keep in Mind about the e-Waste that is being generated by the Electronic Devices such as Computers and Gadgets & Mobile Phones. CHEERS...!! - Krupakar Joshua

The pricing shift from Nokia will be do two things for the company: 1. People will buy the Nokia phone instead of phones importer from China, with no service back up. 2. Give it a large market share.

Off course Nokia is a giant org in mobile business with prominent lion market share. I think time has come for Nokia to realize this fact that competition is stiff out there and they have to shed their plum profit share and give due benefits to end users/consumers at the same time beat ever so growing Chinese/Taiwanese mobile phones loaded with awesome features at throw away prices. I think it is the wise decision by Nokia with come up the feature rich smart phone for middle class buyers. I welcome their move. 'X2' is fresh breath of air in the cheap Chinese phones. I look forward to own one for me.

It definitely will start competing with the various other new mobiles in the market. The low price will also attract a customer to the brand as well as break even with the similar price ranges of the newer lot of handsets when choosing. Way to go for Nokia!
