The laptop, which is just 0.67 inch at its thickest point and weighs less than 1.4kg, called Zenbook UX31, the ultrabook from Asus is powered by a core i7 processor, has 4GB RAM, 256 GB harddisk, a chiclet style keyboard and an aluminum unibody design, said a press release.
It is priced at Rs. 89,999, it is available in 11.6-inch and 13.3-inch varieties, focuses on user experience and aesthetics more than any previous ASUS notebook, the release added.
“Today’s introduction of ASUS ZENBOOK is a vivid proof of fundamental transformation that Ultrabooks are ushering in the space of personal computing. It is packed with the security, responsiveness, and other exciting features, that deliver on the promise of the Ultrabook, to offer the most complete and satisfying computing experience,” Alex Huang, country head, Systems Business Group, ASUS Technology Pvt Ltd (India).
In the few months since Intel first unveiled this new type of device, ASUS has delivered an amazingly light design powered by the visibly smart performance of the second generation Intel Core i7 and Core i5 processors, the release added.
Huang said that lower priced variants with less space and core i5 processors will be launched in India in early 2012.
