I dont think recruiting so many people makes a company great. Best part is if you can minimize ur attrition. If attrition is at 20% plus and if hiring is at 20% plus, are we really hiring. Root cause which I feel in majority of indian companies is not to stop attrition. The HR and other management should see this quite closely because in the long run, its not the new employees who will bring in the business or growth fast (they might but not all) but the old ones or the ones who are with the company for longer duration. I suppose its a myth in indian IT market that if a person is with 1 company for around 10 years, he is good for nothing. What I feel, he is the best candidate, if given a chance. Salary is not always the constraint which brings in attrition but it can be one of the factors. Still if HR looks in it closely, they can bring the attrition to minimum level. Also thereafter if want to grow business and if the hiring is then around 30% and attrition is around 5% or less, it is an excellent company!!
