BANGALORE, INDIA: As the FIFA world cup is reaching an unexpected climax, with the Spain–Netherlands final, Spain has already conquered the cyber space. From blog posts to tweets to what else... Spain is almost like the winner even before the world cup final.

“Euphoria in Spain at semi-final win - The whole of Spain erupted with joy as the national side reached the FIFA World Cup,” reads a tweet. “Gracious Low salutes Spain - Spain were described as the masters of football by Germany coach Joachim Low,” read another.

Interestingly, for a moment, the world cup winners chart on Wikipedia also mentioned by mistake that Spain is the winner, which they immediately rectified.

By qualifying for the finals at FIFA World Cup 2010 against the Netherlands, Spain, one of the largest members of European Union, has literally marked history. And that is reflected in social media too.
