EVIL VOTING MACHINES are challenging the Indian Democracy. 2009 Elections are not done in fair practice. I think we should immediately STOP EVM's for Elections.

The future integrity of Indian election process rests in the hands of the likes of Mulayam, :alu and Mayawati. No technical demonstration, no writ petitions will resolve this EVM matter.Congress would be hell bent on keeping the curent position. Only a vote in Lok Sabha on EVM will move Congress. And here is where the Yadavs and Mayawati enter the picture. But no worry. Congress knows how to fix them. So, ladies and gentlemem, brace yourselves for a long sequence of Congress and allied party wins for the foreseeable future. Damn terrorism, inflation, brazen corruption et al.

EVMs have proved much better than the paper based process as they are efficient, saves lot of effort, paper and thus money and are also more secure. As with any machine, EVMs can have their own issues. The focus should be on identifying and resolving these issue (or security concerns if any) and not in banning them.

We have seen TV footages with gun totting goons near some polling booths when electronic machines were not introduced. Apparently votes if cast could not have been exactly as per individual choice. Nor could the elction officer have complete control over the voting process. By and large for throughout our vast country which ever way election has been conducted it has been acceptable to the contestants.I wonder whether it is with the EVS or without EVS or with Faulty EVS really would make any difference. But then we want to be PUKKA democracy . Long live our democracy. Mera Bharat Mahan

Sure, there will be security concerns in every voting method. Is the ballot paper completely fool proof? Haven't there been instances of "ballot stuffing"? EVMs for example guard against that. Ideally the EVMs are a fast, robust (no invalid voting) and a paper saving method for conducting elections and should not be banned.
