If Govt. of India CLERKS have their way - very soon Cheque too will be banned and only BARTER of Food Grains, Clothes will be allowed - cash too will be banned. Back to 12th Century. Electronic Transfer - IS MUCH BETTER - easier to Track. Why Cheques?

This is the only country that thinks that legitimate bank transactions by developers and service providers for a few dollars is illegitimate, while making provisions for swindling, laundering bigwigs. Has anybody thought of questioning how politicians live only in bungalows and even the crook who occupies the lowest position in any party drives around in a SUV , while all PayPal users bring in only terror funding. Is our administrative machinery so ignorant?

Withdrawal through cheque is the worst option as i have used it before paypal introduced withdrawal to banks. My paypal cheques use to lie in the streets. They dont even send it through courier. They just send it through very ordinary post . Looking for some good merchant services to come up and end the paypal monopoly..

This might be because of some restriction put forth by our government. I was using the Paypal service when I was a freelancer. At that time (2008) there was no restrictions. All you need is just a credit card to verify your account which you can buy for just $20 or less. And there was no control for Indian government over these transactions. But in February Paypal operations was interrupted and then when it was restored. Paypal asked me to enter my Pan card details. However, I needn't pay tax for what I earned earlier :) After that some round of bank verification, etc... happened. I think Indian government now wants more control over these transactions. However, I don't see any difficulty for a honest transactor. Because usually paypal will charge $1 to transfer the fund to your bank account and $5 to issue a cheque. Since, now paypal will refund the $5 (cheque), you are not paying any fees ($0). The only drawback is when funds are transferred electronically you can get your money in 3 days but using cheque you will get in 5 or 6 days but that shouldn't be a big issue.
