"Subsequently, BitTorrent became a protocol as the company developed consumer products such as BitTorrent Mainline and µTorrent, which gained huge popularity and wider use among the users for fast and efficient file transfers. " No. BitTorrent as a protocol has existed since 2002 (and possibly longer), over 2 years before uTorrent existed. Additionally, as a protocol, it was popular before uTorrent came out. And the link to such file distribution and revenue loss in the media industry is strenuous at best, and outright nonexistent in the more common scenarios.
