CyberMedia, MyToday Dailies launches SMS-based news service

BANGALORE,INDIA: CyberMedia, Asia's largest specialty media house, has recently launched an SMS-based news service to cover the latest in the world of mobile gadgets, in association with MyToday Dailies, India's fastest-growing opt-in SMS service from Netcore Solutions.

With this service, mobile users can get the latest updates from the world of gadgets, free of charge. CyberMedia will use its vast network of 15 publications and over 100 technology reporters to serve readers through this rapidly emerging mobile news medium.

To sign up for the free updates, all that a mobile phone user needs to do is to SMS START MOBILE to 09845298452, e.g. START MOBILE MUMBAI.

The service can be stopped at anytime by sending the message STOP MOBILE to the same number. The service is advertisement-supported. Subscribers will receive the latest news on gadgets, mobile phone, handheld devices, printers, PCs, laptops, games free of cost.

The only expense is the normal SMS charges to activate the service, for the start-up SMS (and once more for the stop SMS, if one wants to stop the service).

Commenting on this service, Prasanto K Roy, Chief Editor, CyberMedia's technology publications said, "For a big chunk of India's 300 million mobile phone users, SMS is the most widely used feature after voice.
