"Too much love will kill U" - This is becoming true now-a-days. Dont love anything too much either its Work or a Person. Work for Money and dont work for more than what you are paid-off.

Take out these stringent laws aka 498a and DV act. You will see less number of male suicides. At least amit would have saved.

Two things need to be done. i) There is a need for the Government to force the employers to scruplously follow the stipulations of the Internationational Labour Organisation (to which India is a signatory) regarding shift duties for workers such as only one week of night shift in every three weeks. Continuous night duties for weeks and months is many a times the cause. ii) Analyse the social background of suiciders such as state from which he hails, his familys caste, religion, language etc.

It would wrong to say that Only IT segment has this stress factor. Even the media people are facing the same. Banking sector also has the same problem. However, when it comes to suicide, techies are leading because they toil hard for big money, while others work for a decent living. Ideally the workers should get some break in between the long working hours and some relaxation exercises in between. When life loses music the messengers of death come to your way. Mind it!

Yes. I have a solution. Dont join IT companies... you will be happier in small job and small salary.

I guess no matter what one says or does, at the end of the day its a personal choice one makes. In the case of Amit it was more of a personal crisis which lead to this tragedy. Life in general for us as human beings is by default and not by choice... now that we are here in this amusement park, its on us, whether we embrace the ride or pull out. But essentially we all need to remember... life - its just a ride!

fraud 498a IPC and 3/4 dowry act is reason behind mens suicide and desperate attempt to kill wife better than being framed all family under thsese cases and faces police and judicial biasedness.

It is essentially that the government regulate the number of working hours...software companies are treating humans as cash cows..

It is easier said than done. I am sure Amit might have had many friends. But the fear of jail and our society might have pushed him to take this drastic and very unfortunate step.

Sudhakaran What are the options left to Amit according to you. If he would not have taken this drastic and tragic step Rinku would have filed false cases against him and his entire family and every one would have been putinto jail without any investigation whatso ever. I am not saying he did the correct thing. He might have thought that he is not ready to punish his family and face the society that they are put in jail. Something must be done to review these biased laws and prevent suicides of young couples in India.

Our society is only of the impression that women are the only victims and men harrass them for everything. Gone are those days but the Indian laws are still biased and favour Indian women a lot. From the above it is very clear Amit feared that Rinku would misuse the law against him and his family to get easy divorse from him to marry her boy friend. These laws(read 498a and D.V) are killing innocents and also lot of Indian marriage system. Hope every one will raise their voice against it and save Indian marriages.

This is not a story but a sneak peak of the time to come in coming years, where such incidents could become common and highly depressing. So its time the BPO and Tech culture needs to understand and account needs and wants of human beings the same way they draft the flowcharts for software programmes. The 24x7 cultures needs to halted before the human being turns into a machine with lots of skills and intelligence but no emotions and feelings...

This is a sad story but a fact of todays world, where techies are considered highly intelligent and skillful to develope various software solutions and programmes. But it also reflects the dark side of the same human being, which has failed to control and manage personal life but earned hefty pay cheques for developing software tools for enterprises worth millions and billions dollar. Is this the shadow of materialism that is taking the toll on human emotions, feelings and invaluable needs in relationship?

This trend of techies committing suicide is a reflection of the pressure caoused by life and work. One should understand that life is not just work alone. There has to be a work-life balance. other wise life will lose its music and the depression will lead to death.
