Kerala is famous for its highest "Human Development Index" amongst the Indian states. Unfortunately the so called human development index fails to take into account the ability of the state to provide jobs to its people "as near to their residence as possible with the result that Malyalees are flourishing all over the world except in Kerala but unfortunately are unable to influence the political developments in their state due to they not being voters in the state. May I as a Maharashtrian remind them that you produced the Adi Shankaracharya as well as Raja Ravi Verma, you have tourism potential as good as if not better than Switzerland, you have excellent Ayurvedic spas. So concentrate on your uniqueness in these depressing times.

Even before Kerala start getting proper investment, if employees start getting pink slips, that is not a good sign. That article reflects a reality in the backdrop of global recession. Harikrishnans response reflects some prejudice. Though Kerala has a good IT brain power it is being drained to other states because the state does not offer a conducive environment. And the present development actually sends signlas of panic among the techies. So we have to find a way to retain the brain power rather than sacking them.

Kindly avoid publishing such ill researched articles. 10 or 15 people getting sacked doesnt justify such an article. Kerala have hardly any investment in IT considering the Indian scenario (total turn over generated by IT firms is a few 1000 crores)and both LDF & UDF will ensure that the growth in this sector will not be allowed with all their bandhs and hartals.
