HYDERABAD, INDIA: The Indus Entrepreneurs and Indian School of Business (Tie-ISB) will conduct Connect, an event designed to encourage entrepreneurs in creation, set up and early growth stages of businesses.

Connect is being held for the past three years in Hyderabad. "This year we want to focus on business ideas that looks to tap the 800 million rural Indians who are at the bottom of the pyramid ," said J A Chowdary, president, TiE chapter Hyderabad.

While some selected business ideas will get to be presented to Venture Capitalist (VC) at the event, all entries would be available publicly if so chosen by VCs. "We are inviting presentations earlier, so we can mentor these ideas and they can stand a better chance to get funded," said Chowdary.

The tracks at the event are more likely to focus on sectors such as agriculture, food processing, housing, infrastructure, retail, healthcare, education.

Organizers believe that there is mixed reactions of VC, and a sound business model has a chance to receive funding.

Of the 350 entries received last year there are nearly 13 companies, which are in last stage talks with VCs and are likely to receive funding, Chowdary informed.
