The tie up focuses to extends mobility and analytics offerings in the Indian market

MUMBAI, INDIA: Sybase, Inc., a provider in enterprise infrastructure and mobile software, today announced a distribution (master partner) agreement with Avnet Technology Solutions in India.

The agreement would enable Avnet Technology solutions, India to extend the benefits of Sybase's offerings, particularly analytics and mobility to the hitherto untapped market in India, said a press release.

G Balakrishnan, managing director, Avnet Technology Solutions, India, said, "We are delighted with our new partnership with Sybase, which is renowned for great technology in data management and mobile computing."

He added that through this partnership they would leverage their extensive partner base to expand Sybase's reach in India. Utilizing their supportive partnering infrastructure, they would empower their our team to increase local support and accelerate channel business.

Balakrishnan reiterated "We are looking forward to presenting our channel partners with cutting-edge solutions that resonate with the Indian market. Combined with our comprehensive channel approach around, sales, marketing, technical, financial and logistical services, we believe that this relationship will position our channel partners as premier solution providers."

This agreement with Avnet Technology Solutions comes in the wake of Sybase strengthening its focus on building the competencies of its partners for its database, business intelligence and enterprise mobility offerings, and the approach is to go on enhancing their expertise in a focused and organized manner.

"We have a growing network of certified channel partners across India who can help provide Sybase technology and support to help Indian companies unwire their data," said Sunil Jose, managing director, Sybase India.

He added that partners are the extended arms of their organization engaged in providing consulting services to the end-customers, which also involves providing servicing and support functions.

"We strongly believe the new channel strategy will help us reach new geographies and new customer segments and drive our growth in the Indian market. We have an able partner in Avnet that can accelerate adoption of Sybase's industry leading solutions in India."

The agreement with Avnet is part of the new partner program being launched in India, which would include a dedicated partner portal, marketing programs, eLearning onDemand, training and sales enablement tools, specialized packages and data centers for the system integrators.

The new partner program provides partners with valuable tools and resources designed to speed time to market, lower the cost of doing business, and find new revenue streams quickly and profitably, the release added.

"We have a clear roadmap for our partners. We shall continue to support our select partners who understand our strategy and vision and our commitment to keep them up to speed with optimum support in terms of resource up-skill, enablement, marketing and technical support, " said Jose.
