Guys, remember Bangalore is the sole property of Kannadigas. Kannada has the foremost priority here. Speak in kannada everywhere in Karnataka, if non kannadigas dont understand it, they have to learn it or leave bangalore. Kannadigas are the most talented and they tend to speak in every other language possible to make the other person feel comfortable. Now this has been sufficiently misused and stop speaking in any other language. Kannadigas in Bangalore should get special benefits like tax exemptions, reduced tax etc.. Vehicle registrations, mobile connetions, property registrations should not be done to non kannadigas. Job priority should be first given to kannadigas (based on merit) both in public and private sector including MNCs. Kannadigas are the localites in bangalore and localites has the highest priority. Let everybody understand this. The government should make sure that non kannadigas understand this. Outside vehicles should not be allowed into bangalore anymore. The govt. should understand the sentiments of kannadigas and give special benefits to kannadigas in both public and private sector companies. Kannadigas, come on lets unite to make bangalore a kannada stronghold. Let non kannadigas understand that they have come here to do their work silently and get back to their places, not to settle here.

i don't take such a hard stance. lot of our students go out. many times to other countries altogether. in any case i am not in agreement of any such discrimination be it us or them. but what i don't like is the attitude of the average outsider thinking Kannada is not cool and we are fools speaking it.

For all those people who are saying that Hindi is the national language of India, please note this... (unfortunate that i have to use a "please").. Just like hindi, kannada, tamil, telgu n all the 22 languages recognised by government of India are national languages.. No where the constitution of India says that hindi is the only national language... Though I do nt support the violent action of KRV, i support their thoughts. People who have come to Bangalore from other states should realise that Kannnada and Karnataka are also part of India. India would not be India without its diversity.. I think there is nothing like local culture and pride as true pride of any culture is respecting all other cultures. I stay with British society on & off since last four years, I find they are still superior human race as they have better respect for all religions, cultures and race. Gujarati, Hindi books are available in almost all council libraries in Britain but I am not sure you will find any Hindi or Gujarati book in any library of Tamilnadu or Maharashtra. One fine day, my bike was lifted from ICIC bank Aundh branch by Pune traffic police. I went to get my bike back from traffic police but officer demanded Rs 1500 bribe because my bike is Karnataka registration. I was ready to pay all legal fees and get my bike to be registered in Maharashtra. However, due to awkward rules and procedure I am yet to get it registered in Maharashtra. I went back home and called-up anti-corruption department to inform about the bribe demand by traffic police officer. Anti-corruption bureau officer inquired me and started asking my details. I informed him that I am ready to paying all legal fees to get my bike registered in Pune and applicable fine due to rule break. However, I want such traffic officer should be booked for asking bribe openly. It is happening in Chatushungi Police station Pune everyday there are n number of open air bribe counter. I can show you on google map if you like. Anti-corruption officer was also kind of “Jay Maharashtra” guy, when I informed him that my bike is Karnataka registration and now I have shifted to Pune as my permanent home. Then he started speaking with me in Marathi I informed him that I am sorry as I am yet to know Marathi as my mother tongue is Gujarati. He laughed at me and said it’s very funny that you are Gujarati and have a bike with Karnataka registration and now living in Maharashtra. I told him that I must tell you that I have studied in Utter Pradesh and I think it is not funny at all. I greeted him with “Jay Maharashtra” and hang-up the phone. I immediately called-up corrupt traffic police officer on his mobile (+91 9850571517) and informed him how much he wants finally to release my bike. He expressed sympathy to me and just charged me Rs. 700 bribe to release my bike. I thanked him and collected my bike. It is still Karnataka registration bike as I have unknown fear to approach any government office especially regional.

I have been in Bangalore almost my entire life, when i go down to a store in Bangalore, i always make it a point to speak in Kannada, agreed my Kannada isnt the greatest! (Having lived in Delhi for around 2 years recently)but i always notice that the person at the store communicates with me in hindi, i try and change the course by talking in Kannada again, but recieve a reply in Hindi or english again, this is what happens when i take a stand and want to speak in Kannada! Why should i take the trouble then? First, our people should learn to respond in the language that they are spoken to! Having said this, i am not condoning what these northies have done and they deserve their terminations if not worse!

This is a simple issue blown out of proportion. IT companies are strict meritocracies as they have to compete in the global market, and there is no place in them for quotas and reservations. If Karnataka expels non-Kannadigas u can expect an expulsion of Kannadigas by other states. This will lead to the fragmentation and ruin of India. Let us learn a lesson from Europe. The white Xians of Europe are now one under the EU, although they speak different languages. Why cant the brown Hindus of India follow this example. Indians must remember that if they dont hang together they will be hung separately by their enemies who are just waiting for a chance across the border. The situation in Bangalore might well become like that in Mumbai. So its better if those supporting anti Kannada acts refrain themselves from doing that. Prevention is always better than cure!!! We Kannadigas accept every language in Bangalore, that has fired back at us now!!! If outsiders fail to recognise importance of Kannada in Bangalore, KRV is the only option!!! We should start protesting each & every small or big insult to kannada or kannadiga culture. The root cause of the problem is with the five accused employees of Sasken. These employees are neither illiterates nor uneducated. They know very well about different states, languages and cultures of different states of our country. Giving the respect to the land (local language & local culture) is a paramount importance that a citizen of our country needs to understand. Because the land has given the opportunity for them to come, work and live harmoniously with the local people. It is unfortunate that these employees have failed to understand this. If this harmony happens there will not be any protests of this kind. Igniting these kinds of incidents and taking the excuse of democracy, industry growth affected etc is not the way of handling this. All IT organizations should give a lesson of respecting and learning the local language & culture to its employees during new hire orientation course.

Calling press meet; Protesting before IT secretary or Sasken office; Complaining to the Management with proof or to local police station; these are the righteous approaches and a democratic way of solving issues, all these things has to be done before attacking not after, now for the mistake of 5 an organization has been attacked, its other innocent emplyees ran to save themselves, we gave the five one day off and they went back to their home states, now who is affected, if these things continue industry growth will stunt, people wont come in, now every state has its IT city, after all we are in one geographic boundary we share power/resources/infrastructure/food grain with other states daily, we are not part of Pakistan/Bangladesh/Srilanka/China. These harsh messages we are posting in CIOL not in a KRV forum, think before reacting. For one mistake there is one punishment and that has been given by taking law in hands, why prolong the issue and continue the threat and insecurity. Every metro city has mixed population with less people from native state this is a fact, imagine what will happen if evey state forms a group and start doing this. Mother is one that is our Nation, our politicians still follow the divide and rule tact for power and selfish motive, should we fall prey for that. I feel karntaka raksana vedike should consider this and call for a press meet and should take this issue to government and force them to bring some legal rule to avoid such incidents, thereby making IT companies to follow the same.
