BANGALORE, INDIA: The President of India, Pratibha Devisingh Patil, today visited the Infosys headquarters in Bangalore.

The President was accompanied by Karnataka Governor Rameshwar Thakur. During her visit to the Infosys campus in Electronics City, the president viewed a corporate video on the Infosys story and interacted with the Infosys senior management. She was given a tour of the Infosys premises, said a press release.

The president then attended a tree plantation ceremony at the Infosys campus as part of the green initiative at the company.

Welcoming the President and dignitaries to the Infosys campus, Narayana Murthy, chairman of the Board said, "As the first woman President of India and as a person involved in public life since the 1960s, she is a great inspiration for women in India, who are partners in the extraordinary progress the country is making."

Speaking on her visit to the Infosys campus, the President said Infosys has done a commendable job working with vision and dedication.

"Infosys is a leader in its field. Its principle of ethics and social responsibility contributes to the growth of the country's economy and society," she said.
