BANGALORE, INDIA: Consulting and information technology services provider Satyam Computer Services Ltd announced today that it has won the 2008 Asian Most Admired Knowledge Enterprises (MAKE) Award.
Teleos, an independent knowledge management and intellectual capital research firm that administers the MAKE program, recognized Satyam at the 2008 Asian MAKE Ceremony at the Ninth World Knowledge Forum in Seoul, said a press release.
“The Asian MAKE winners are effectively transforming knowledge into wealth-creating ideas, products and solutions,” said Rory Chase, managing director of Teleos.
“They are building portfolios of intellectual capital that enable them to outperform their global competitors. The MAKE panel recognized Satyam for its ability to develop knowledge workers through senior management leadership and organizational learning.”
A distinguished panel of Asian Fortune Global 500 business executives and leading knowledge management and intellectual capital experts rated organizations against the MAKE framework - key knowledge performance dimensions that drive competitive advantage, the release added.
These include creating a knowledge-driven corporate culture, developing knowledge leaders and workers, innovation and transforming corporate knowledge into shareholder value.
Among other qualities, this year’s Asian MAKE winners were recognized for delivering superior financial performance, the release said.
“Success in today’s new, complex world, which is characterized by shifting economics and an information explosion, depends a great deal on how well we manage what we know,” said Satyam chairman and founder B. Ramalinga Raju.
“Winning organizations treat knowledge as a strategic asset, and manage it intelligently and efficiently,” he added.
He said Satyam has consistently innovated and advanced the state of knowledge management practice since its inception in 1987.
