NEW DELHI, INDIA: Nasscom, the premier trade body and voice of the software and services industry in India, today hosted in Delhi the EmergeOut Conclave, its first ever conference for the emerging companies.

Nasscom in the last few years has been actively focussing on developing the emerging companies in the country and have developed multiple platforms to reach out to them.

The emerge forum, emerge blogs, emerge newsletter, emerge community, mentorship program, exciting emerging companies to work for are some of the activities done under Emerge Forum.

Nasscom has been organising SME member meets and focussed SME activities in the past to understand their views with respect to the IT industry scenario and bottlenecks in their growth.

The Nasscom Emerge Forum served as a platform to the SME segment to share experiences, ally on critical projects and even focus on partnerships to cater to customer demands.

"This is the first national event in country and apart from Delhi, it is also happening in many cities like Bangalore, Chennai, etc," said Krishnakumar Natarajan, chairman of Nasscom Emerge Forum and CEO of MindTree Ltd. "Participate more and more in this kind of forum and get benefited. Since value comes from more participation", he added. "Don't be beholden to a single idea.

Ideas will go through a spermicidal process. Your customers will probably not be who you think they are," said Subroto Bagchi, founder of Mindtree consulting, during his speech on entrepreneurship.

"When we were 500 people as a company, we thought everyone knows us. We landed up in the US, and no one did. But the great thing about being an emerging company is that you don't know your limitations - you're like a lion cub, and will charge into a pack of hyenas."

There are many activities done under the Emerge Forum – Friday's 2.0, Emerge Blog, Emerge Community, Nasscom's 100 IT Innovators, Mentorship Program, to mention a few.

The showcase of innovative companies profiles large, medium and small organisations that have made innovation an important part of their growth strategies.

The nation-wide search for these companies conducted for the fourth time in India unveiled a wide spectrum of young enterprising companies and some of the large companies that are making waves both at home and overseas.

This is positioned as annual feature on Nasscom's roster of activities.

Through this forum, these companies have managed to stand out and differentiate themselves in highly competitive, often adverse market conditions and carved a niche for themselves using breakthrough technological products and novel market initiatives.
