Logica strengthens Indian operations

Announces new site in Chennai; appoints new CEO and creates global innovation director role

BANGALORE, INDIA: Logica today announced its plans to open a new site in Chennai.

The new site will cover over 120,000 square feet and can accommodate an additional 1,500 staff. The office is due to be open for business in July this year.

The company also strengthened its Indian management team with the appointment of Abhay Gupte as chief executive of Logica’s operations in India. Earlier he was with EDS’s Indian Business.

Gupte will take full control of overall performance for Logica’s offshore operations in India, manage all aspects of delivery and quality control, and take responsibility for the planned growth in headcount. He will report to Jim McKenna, chief operations officer, Logica.

Rahul Patwardhan, current CEO India, has recently moved to Europe to take on the role of global director application services.

Logica also today announced that’s GBS Bindra, currently global director of Product Engineering at Logica, has been promoted into the newly created role of global innovation director.

In his new role Bindra will play a pivotal role in leading a comprehensive program to design and implement a group-wide innovation strategy.
