NEW DELHI, INDIA: Intex Technologies, which deals in IT hardware, electronics and mobile phones, is exploring options to start manufacturing in India.
“We are looking at technology partners in India and abroad who have the capability to develop software and hardware for mobile phones. But they will have to manufacture products locally,” said Ramesh A Vaswani, executive vice chairman, Intex Technologies in an interaction with CIOL.
Vaswani mentioned that the company will be in a position to make some significant announcement by the end of July with regard to its manufacturing plan in the country.
Also, Intex is planning to launch handsets for 3G services in the next two months.
“We are working on our plan for 3G handsets. You can expect us to launch these handsets in other two months' time,” said Vaswani.
On the estimated prices of these handsets, Vaswani said it would be in the range of Rs. 5000 to Rs. 6000.
During the interaction, Vaswani claimed that at present, the company is selling approximately 150,000 mobile units per month.
