BANGALORE, INDIA: Google is planning to offer its voice-recognition technology to Apple's iPhone shortly, according to New York Times.
According to NYT report, iPhone users can send out there requirement or question through voice search. The application converts audio search request into a digital file. The file's then sent to Google's severs, which interpret the speech and then pass it along to the search engine to hunt down an answer to the question.
The free application was expected to be available on other devices, presumably including the T-Mobile G1, which uses Android.
Yahoo and Microsoft already offer a voice-recognition option for mobile phones. Microsoft's Tellme service offers users information in specific categories, such as movies, maps or directions.
Yahoo offers voice services through its one Search platform.
