MUMBAI: Frontier Business Systems Private Limited, the Bangalore based IT infrastructure solutions and services company today, announced expansion of its Mumbai operations.

Earlier, the company has very small support staff, but now it has set up a full-fledged office here to offer virtualization services and solutions in the western part of India. It has increased its headcount to 35 that includes sales and technical support staff and plans to raise the staff strength to 100 in a year's time.

For last 15 years, Frontier Business Systems is offering comprehensive IT infrastructure services and solutions, since 2008 the company has forayed into virtualization business.

The new expansion is focused on three key business verticals – banking and financial services, manufacturing and corporates.

"We are highly focused on virtualization as it is playing a crucial role in organizations as a means to reducing cost on IT infrastructures," said Arunachalam S, Frontier Business Systems' business head of Virtualization and Application Delivery Solutions.

"We have built a separate practice for virtualization and offer dedicated team to organizations in implementing virtualization. Also, we have the virtualization consulting services that provide organizations with the virtualization road maps," he added.

Arunachalam said the Mumbai operations will look after western region including Gujarat and later on will setup sub offices in this part.

He said the company's new corporate office in Bangalore is a state-of-the-art green building and it would receive gold certification from LEED, the US Green Building Council (USGBC) in the month of May.

He reckoned that even in the sluggish business scenario, virtualization is having high demand across organizations and sees great business opportunities in it.

On the virtualization front, Frontier Business Systems is closely associated with VMware and has seven VMware certified professionals (VCP) along with over 65 VMware certified sales professionals (VCP). It has invested about US$ 750,000 in skill upgradation and certification programs.

Over all, there are 10 offices across India and partners with IBM, VMware, Cisco, etc – with 2000 plus large and about 6000 small customers.

According the Arunachalam, the company's total staff strength is 550 and will increase to 800 in next two years' time. In the last financial year, the company posted revenues of over Rs 200 crore and targets Rs 300 crore for the current fiscal.
