EMC maintains top slot in V&D ranking

The network storage industry in India recorded an excellent growth of 46 per cent during the financial year 2007-'08

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Leading telecom magazine Voice&Data(V&D) has ranked information infrastructure solutions provider EMC Corp. number one network storage vendor for the consecutive fourth year.

According to V&D annual 100 issue, EMC grew faster in 2007-'08 than the overall network storage market in India registering a growth of 51.8 per cent to secure a market share of 22.8 per cent.

Alok Ohrie, president, EMC India and SAARC, said, "The company today has more than 1,000 customers in the India, a 30 fold increase in the last five years. The stellar growth of EMC is a testament to the success of our Go-To-Market strategy in India."

The total network storage market grew from Rs. 430 crore in FY 2004-'05 to reach Rs. 1,466 crore in 2007-08, an EMC statement said quoting V&D.

V&D is India's only publication on the business of communications providing vital information, statistics and analysis on the business, technology and regulatory aspects of Indian telecom and networking industry.

The publication conducts annual surveys across all technology verticals and recognizes key players and vendors in the respective market segments.
