Strategic partnership focuses on virtualization solutions that enable customers to achieve increased efficiency, costs savings and business continuity

BANGALORE: Citrix Systems, Inc., a provider in delivery infrastructure, today announced that it has reinforced its commitment with the strategic partners HP and Intel to help customers achieve business benefits from server virtualization solutions through Citrix XenServer.

Integrated into Intel-based HP ProLiant servers, Citrix XenServer enables businesses of all sizes to lower costs, improve productivity and better allocate resources across their server environments, said a press release.

Citrix and HP have been together to provide customers with joint engineering solutions, supported by a dedicated HP team cooperating with Citrix sales, operations, marketing, consulting and technical development, it said.

Citrix Application Delivery Infrastructure is optimized on Intel platform and together with Intel, Citrix is enabling our customers to deliver all applications securely at the lowest cost, while optimizing bandwidth, reducing power consumption, eliminating complexity and costs in the data center, the release added.

"Despite the tremendous business benefits that virtualization offers, industry estimates show that fewer than 15 per cent of all servers are virtualized. Our partnership with industry leaders such as HP and Intel reflects our commitment to create greater awareness of the benefits of end-to-end virtualization technology," said Nabeel Youakim, vice president, marketing, Pacific, at Citrix Systems.

"With Citrix and Intel, HP is broadening its reach to customers who appreciate the ability to integrate BladeSystem and ProLiant servers with Citrix XenServer and our ProLiant virtual console. With XenServer, HP expects our joint value to increase for customers looking to further accelerate their business growth," said Aman Dokania, director and general manager, Infrastructure Software, HP Asia Pacific and Japan.

Citrix XenServer has been performance-optimized for Citrix XenApp workloads, application virtualization technology to enhance availability and continuity of applications while helping to optimize hardware capacity utilization without sacrificing the performance of critical business services. It ensures simple, powerful and centralized manageability, the release added.

"Our close collaboration with Citrix and HP continues to make significant strides in the virtualization space with improved server utilization, energy-efficiency and performance throughout the server ecosystem," said William Wu, Server Platforms Group, Intel Asia Pacific.

He added that the successful integration of Citrix XenServer and HP Proliant servers based on Intel virtualization technology would bring advancements to the industry and tremendous benefits to the customers in reducing costs and optimizing business agility.
