BANGALORE, INDIA: The blog of Pradeep Chakraborty (http://pradeepchakraborty.blogspot.com/), the content head and executive editor of Cybermedia India Online Ltd (CIOL), won the first ever Electronics blogs award, in the Electronic Hardware category, instituted by Electronic Weekly, UK's leading website for electronics professionals.

His blog was selected for the award from a shortlist of 10 blogs in the category and the winners were selected on the basis of a popular vote.

Pradeep's blog focuses mainly on infocom, telecom, electronics, components, semiconductors, nanotechnology, IT, and leisure.

The awards are given in three categories - Mobile Comms, Electronic Hardware and Electronic Gadgets. The aim of the award was to provide electronics professionals with a comprehensive list of the most popular and useful writers on the web, Electronic Weekly said in a statement.

In the Electronic Gadgets category Slippery Brick emerged the winner whereas the blog named VisionMobile got the award in the Mobile Comms category.
