NEW DELHI: BT, a provider in telecommunication services, today announced that it has entered in to agreement with Nestle, a nutrition, health and wellness company, to connect global offices of Nestle using the next-generation high-end video conferencing services.

Under the terms of the agreement, BT would deliver to Nestle a fully-managed video conferencing service comprising Cisco TelePresence technology running on BT's global Multi Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) network. The deal also includes complete ongoing support using BT's Video Business Unit (VBU) Concierge service.

The solution, which would initially connect Nestle's global hubs, uses high-definition video and multi-dimensional sound to offer a high quality videoconferencing experience.

The system gives users the feeling of being in the same room as the other participants, whether those participants happen to be on the other side of the town or the other side of the world.

Nestle expects the new system would help the company reduce travel costs and improve productivity through improved collaboration between geographically dispersed teams.

Olivier Campenon, BT president, EMEA includes Switzerland, Nordics, Central and Eastern Europe, Russia, the Middle East and Africa said: "We are delighted to be able to help Nestle make substantial savings on travel costs. This latest project with Nestle is a further proof of the strong relationship we have built over the years, connecting the company's operations in far flung places around the world."
