ACIS opens 3rd facility at Technopark

BANGALORE, INDIA: ACIS, a wholly owned subsidiary of Allianz Insurance Plc., UK, announced today that it has opened its third facility at Technopark, Trivandrum, Kerala. Spread over 40,000 sq. ft., the new facility will have total capacity of 600 seats.

The first phase opened today accommodates 250 seats and will primarily be used for global Application Development and Maintenance projects for Allianz. ‘Green IT’ concepts are at the heart of the design using sustainable environment friendly material, energy efficient fixtures, intelligent air conditioning and allowing for natural light, in alignment with the parent company’s measures to avoid climate change and its impact, said a press release.

In his brief remarks post the inauguration, Mike Nithavrianakis, British Deputy High Commissioner said, “ACIS is an example of Indo British partnership in Kerala and I am pleased to be here at the inauguration of their third facility. I congratulate all concerned at ACIS and wish them well for the future.”

On the occasion, Mervin Alexander, CEO, Technopark, said, “ACIS has been a lead reference for Technopark. That the third facility of ACIS is also in the Technopark campus is a validation of the ecosystem we have created here.”

Interacting with journalists on the occasion, Andrew Torrance, CEO, Allianz Insurance, said, “We will continue to grow ACIS and I am happy to see ACIS moving in the direction of being a shared services center of choice for Allianz globally.”

In his remarks, Rakesh Gupta, COO, ACIS, said, “We have strove to make ACIS a great place to work and a true employer of choice. This and the focus on happy customers have been the primary reasons for our success till date.”

ACIS was the first BFSI multinational to recognize the untapped potential of tier III cities in India and took the bold decision of setting up its IT operations at Technopark in Trivandrum in 2003. In 2004, it forayed into BPO, in the process pioneering the ITeS sector in Kerala. ACIS was also the first to handle voice processes in Kerala, said the release.
